Boris Becker “live”

A while ago I mentioned the exposition of Boris Becker in the  photo museum of Antwerp, which still is on display until 16.01.2011.

Last Thursday, December 9, I had the opportunity to follow a guided tour throughout the exposition led by Mr. Becker himself, in which he commented on his own work. It was quite astonishing to learn that Mr. Becker only was an adept of Bernd & Hilla Becher for maybe two or three years. After that he took his own personal approach on capturing the industrial heritage. He also likes to shift gears and move on to cover completely different topics,  such as in the series “deception” in which he photographed ordinary objects carrying cocaine which were seized by customs.
